Nimet

Project Name: Nimet

Location: Kozhikode, Kerala

Design Team: Shiju Pareed, Hafiz, Afsath

This villa brings together the richness of luxury design and the familiarity of Indian living. Throughout the project, the team aimed to create a grand home that feels elegant yet remains grounded in everyday comfort.

Initially, a wide, welcoming staircase forms the focal point at the entrance and sets the tone for the rest of the home. Beyond the entry, a central courtyard draws in sunlight and breeze. Furthermore, an arched gallery—inspired by classic French architecture—wraps around the upper level to add charm and openness.

Moving into the guest living room, the design team utilized a tall, double-height ceiling to create a sense of scale. Specifically, curtains fall from over 15 feet to draw the eye upward. Interestingly, the designers included classic wall fans as a playful detail, proving that practical elements can also be stylish.

Similarly, each bedroom carries its own unique warmth. The team used upholstered walls, patterned fabrics, and carefully detailed furniture to bring a calm, luxurious feel to the private spaces. In fact, the designers handpicked every piece to blend comfort with high-end design.

Regarding the material palette, the choices remain elegant and quiet. For instance, beige Italian marble covers the common areas, while wooden flooring warms the bedrooms. Additionally, soft tones flow across ceilings and walls. Consequently, a thoughtful mix of direct and indirect lighting ties the entire aesthetic together.

Ultimately, every element—from the layout to the fabrics—received careful attention. As a result, the home feels grand without being overwhelming, reflecting both a global sensibility and everyday Indian life.
