Mullavally Villa

Project Name: Mullavally Villa

Location: Vadakara, Kozhikode, Kerala

Area: 6800 Sq.ft.

Year: 2024

Set against Kerala’s calm, green backdrop, this residence blends modern architecture with a sense of place. The design follows a simple, contemporary approach, but adds warmth through materials, textures, and carefully chosen details.

From the outside, the home is defined by clean lines, cubic forms, and a balanced façade. A neutral palette of white, beige, grey, and charcoal gives it a timeless quality, while natural stone cladding on the entrance columns and warm wooden soffit finishes soften the geometry. Large windows and sliding doors connect the interior to the landscaped surroundings, while a pergola and vertical louver panels add rhythm, shade, and privacy.

Inside, the floor plan is arranged to balance openness with privacy. Entry from the porch leads to a sit-out and verandah, then into a foyer that transitions into the main living spaces. The central zone houses the living and family rooms, linked to a courtyard that draws in light and fresh air. The dining area sits between the main kitchen and work kitchen, with a store for convenience. The master bedroom, with its own dressing and bath, enjoys privacy, while secondary bedrooms are located in a separate wing. Spaces like the prayer room and ablution area reflect cultural needs.

Movement between public, semi-private, and private areas feels natural, supported by cross-ventilation and thoughtful placement of openings. Throughout the home, landscaping softens edges and ties the structure to its setting.

The interiors have a modern luxury vibe. Warm browns, taupe, and soft greys blend with polished stone, wood panels, and soft fabrics. Black marble, metallic accents, and indoor plants add depth. The blend of natural and refined finishes makes each space feel cosy, stylish, and linked to its surroundings.
