Client Brief
The client sought a hotel façade that would serve as a landmark—elegant, sophisticated, and timeless. While no particular style was specified, the aspiration was clear: the building should project prestige while remaining functional and accessible. This openness gave us the freedom to explore different stylistic possibilities, ensuring the final design would reflect both the client’s ambition and the character of its urban context.
Design Process
With no predetermined style, we began by preparing a mood board and presenting two contrasting elevations: a Greek classical style and a modern–contemporary option. The classical direction resonated with the client, who valued its timeless appeal. We then refined the concept, layering classical proportions with contemporary touches. The resulting design balances tradition and modernity, ensuring the façade feels both iconic and relevant.
Design Challenge
The key challenge was creating harmony between classical richness and contemporary restraint. A fully classical façade risked excess ornamentation, while a purely modern treatment felt too minimal. Additionally, practical elements such as signage, façade lighting, and vehicular access needed seamless integration. Our goal was to achieve proportion, clarity, and elegance without compromising function or overwhelming the building’s scale.
Design Progress
Through iterative refinement, the design matured into a blend of classical and contemporary styles. Vertical pilasters, and cornices, while streamlined glazing and subtle lighting bring modern refinement. Every element was carefully detailed to project elegance without excess. The final façade captures the client’s ambition: a dignified, memorable presence that unites aesthetic character with practical efficiency.
